If you don’t have speed, go for depth

When I first joined my company, there was a phrase being bandied around that almost had me taking myself out of the game before I'd even gotten started.

"Speed is sexy."

I heard it over and over again, and at the time it was clear I was more of a tortoise than a hare.

It made me wonder if there was a place for people like me in network marketing. Nevertheless, it's not in my nature to quit as soon as things get hard, so I knew I had to figure it out.

Time has taught me that no matter who you are, the beautiful thing about this profession is that there is a way for you to build your business in alignment with your strengths and values.

For me, that meant I had to dig deep and find my grit.

As a leader, while I love the excitement of having people in my team who go fast, I value most those who are in this with me for the long haul.

Fickle friends who will only stick around for the good times aren't the ones who are going to help me grow my business.

We're all extraordinary. Who you become along the way is more important than how quickly you arrive at your goal. It takes character to stay the course in the absence of tangible proof that you will ultimately be successful. These are the people I want to work with.

These days I have my own mantras....

"Resilience is sexy."
"Persistence is sexy."
"Consistency is sexy."
"Integrity is sexy."

Speed? I can take it or leave it.
